Prostate Prevention
It takes less money to prevent a disease from happening rather than treating it. As men grow older, they should think about prostate prevention since this could make the person have an enlarged prostate or even cancer.
People only began to understand prostate problems 20 years ago. During those days, there were no cures yet but thanks to advances in medicine, there are now things people can do before it is too late.
One such example is the PSA or prostatic specific antigen test. This came as the digital rectal exam could only detect a prostate problem in its advanced stages. Studies have shown that using these two may increase the chances of survival after treatment is given.
Aside from going to a regular checkup, prostate prevention also means having a good diet. One example is called the Macrobiotic diet. The person will be eating just fish, vegetables and whole grains.
The macrobiotic diet requires minimal cooking. Also, dairy foods and meat are prohibited. This originated from Japan and has found its way to our shoes. Doing some research about it can help you decide if this can help you with prostate prevention.
For those that will have a hard time giving up meat or poultry products, you can still do so and have prostate prevention by going organic. This frees the person from fertilizers, pesticides, chemicals and food preservatives that is now available in the supermarket.
You should also eat lots of unprocessed raw foods and drink filtered or distilled water. The daily intake should be between 8 to 12 glasses a day so the urinary tract is clean.
Giving yourself a regular massage regularly also aids in prostate prevention. You can do this in the lower abdomen just above the penis. Your partner can even do the work for you or even stroke your manhood.
If you feel the urge to ejaculate, that is perfectly normal. In fact, some doctors recommend that the person achieve orgasm two to three times a week.
Eating right should also be complimented with an active lifestyle. This means exercising regularly since studies have shown that people who are physically fit are less likely to get sick or have other serious illnesses.
This will help you maintain or achieve your ideal weight that is normal for your age and height.
PSA levels as mentioned earlier may be abnormal when the test comes in due to stress. So, you should learn to relax by attending classes that give this such as Yoga, Tai Chi or Quijong. It’s a good low impact workout that can also help with prostate prevention.
Believe it or not, smoking and drinking has been known to cause certain cancers. You can cut down on alcohol consumption but the pack of cigarettes has to go.
Going for regular checkups, eating right and having an active lifestyle are what men need for prostate prevention. You don' t have to wait till you reach the age of 50 to start doing something about it. This is because everything you do now affects how your body will be years later.
Prostate prevention is more active today than it was 20 years ago because of the information we have now. Don’t you think we should do whatever we can to ourselves and the men around us?
